Atrium Health Floyd in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Patient Services Representative I to join the Pulmonary Medicine department. This role supports patient registration, verifies insurance, collects liabilities, and schedules follow-ups in a busy outpatient setting.

This part-time position (24 hours/week) offers exposure to Medicare/third-party payer processes, requires strong communication and data-entry skills, and potential move to full-time as needs evolve.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; patient access experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and pre-certification requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel and ADT software.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow for efficient service.
• Verify insurance information and complete registration.
• Collect patient liabilities and process payments.
• Adhere to Financial Clearance policy and refer as needed.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselor for assistance.
• Close visits, schedule follow-ups, and provide documents.
• Know payer requirements and pre-authorization lists.
• Communicate issues to management and support process improvements.
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets; maintain professional relations.
• Collaborate with staff for timely information flow.
