Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Associate for the Second Shift in Huber Heights to support patient care by accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, and collecting required documentation.

The role serves as the first point of contact, delivering courteous service, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring registration tasks are completed in alignment with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare administrative or customer service role.
• Proficiency in computer systems and data entry.
• Knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality and healthcare processes.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics, insurance, and contact data into the EHR.
• Verify patient identity and insurance eligibility and prevent duplicates.
• Obtain consents and signatures for treatment and billing.
• Explain financial responsibilities, collect payments as applicable.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer questions, and assist with directions.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments.
• Maintain HIPAA and organizational confidentiality.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow.
• Address incomplete registrations and follow up as needed.
• Participate in training to stay current with healthcare regulations and technology.
