Job summary

Kettering Health in Dayton, OH is seeking a Patient Registration I for the First Shift to support patient care by accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, and collecting required documentation in line with regulatory standards.

You will be the first contact for patients and visitors, delivering excellent service while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Prior healthcare admin experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in healthcare admin or customer service.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographic, insurance, and contact information into the EHR system.
• Verify patient identity and insurance eligibility to ensure data integrity.
• Obtain and document consents, authorizations, and signatures for treatment and billing.
• Explain financial responsibilities, co-pays, deductibles, and payment options; collect payments as applicable.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer questions, and provide directions or assistance.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments per provider availability.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow.
• Address incomplete or inaccurate registrations and follow up as needed.
