Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative for Outpatient and Emergency departments. You will register patients, collect payments, assist with scheduling, and guide patients through pre-registration and eligibility processes to ensure accurate billing and smooth visits.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma (Associate's preferred), and comfort with EHR systems and MS Office. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience; computer systems and MS Office.
• Licensure, Certification & Registration: None

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguards cash and reconciles the drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts patient coverage.
• Instructs patients and obtains signatures on forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients regarding non-covered services and ABNs; secures signatures.
• Manages waiting area for smooth registration; informs patients of delays and ensures a good experience.
• Maintains confidentiality and secure handling of patient information.
• Initiates scheduling using calls, messages, and queues; verifies required information.
