Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year hospital or health care registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as primary receptionist for all incoming patients to the department.
• Maintains excellent customer service by recognizing needs of patients, families, and visitors.
• Enters data into EMR modules, verifies demographic and insurance information, and revises as necessary.
• Verifies insurance coverage and registration accuracy using EMR tools and notifies other departments as needed.
• Collects payments for services or co-pays following EMTALA regulations.
• Adheres to facility Values, Service Excellence, and Standards of Excellence.
