Job summary

North Country HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access professional to support multiple shifts in a 24/7 operation. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and obtain signatures for treatment and forms such as IMM and ABN.

Strong customer service and accurate data entry are essential. The role requires flexibility for days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access or similar healthcare front desk
• Strong data entry and accuracy skills
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and EMR systems
• Knowledge of EMTALA requirements and patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary receptionist for the department and deliver excellent customer service
• Enter demographic/insurance data and verify accuracy in the EMR system
• Verify insurance coverage and assist with co-pay collection per department policy
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and required documents
• Handle phone calls, paging, and coordination with other departments as needed
• Support accuracy of registrations and documentation during peak periods
