Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the patient intake process in our clinic, handling check-in/out, data collection, payments, and scheduling. You will verify insurance, process referrals and authorizations, and communicate hospital policies to patients and families.

The role requires strong customer service, knowledge of insurance billing, and medical terminology, with an emphasis on delivering a seamless patient experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• No additional education required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assemble data and documents for complete patient registration and insurance verifications.
• Enter patient demographic information and use applications for eligibility and authorization.
• Assess patient financial responsibility and collect co-pays and deductibles at admission.
• Inform patients and offices about hospital payment policies and available funding resources.
• Obtain funding information and assist with scheduling, pre-registration, registration or post registration processes.
• Use payer resources to assess eligibility and initiate third-party referrals and charity care processes.
