Job summary

Sutter Health's SCH-Sutter Coast Hospital seeks a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the face to face contact for patients, register and financially clear patients, and greet families with care and professionalism.

This role requires accurate data entry, knowledge of insurance terms, EMTALA basics, and the ability to work in multiple computer systems while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of health insurance terms, patient access workflow and confidentiality.
• Ability to register and financially clear patients accurately in multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the face to face contact for patients and families.
• Registers patients and financially clears them for service delivery.
• Greets patients, verifies information, and ensures accurate data entry.
• Supports high quality customer service and uses Sutter Health service offerings.
• Maintains documentation in patient registration systems and meets standards.
