Job summary

Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Patient Access Representative II to facilitate smooth admissions for inpatients and outpatients. You will collect accurate patient information, explain hospital policies, and coordinate with departments to ensure efficient registration and billing processes.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of admitting office and/or PBX operator experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Understanding of Medical Terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
• Computer literacy and proficiency.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire date (Hollywood and Van Nuys only)

Responsibilities

• Registers all patients according to department procedures and completes admission forms.
• Prepares financial folders and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Operates PBX, answers calls, and transfers to departments.
• Ensures physicians are authorized to admit patients and refers delinquencies to administration.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and safe environment for patient and staff.
