Responsibilities

• Collects accurate demographics and insurance information to register patients.
• Verifies insurance benefits and collects patient financial responsibilities.
• Cross-trains and works in all assigned areas; mentors peers.
• Conducts patient interviews to obtain data for registration, insurance verification and billing.
• Verifies eligibility and negotiates deposits and payment arrangements per policy.
• May perform cashiering duties following policy; supports multiple departments as needed.
• Assists patients to nursing units and escalates issues to management as necessary.
• Ensures compliance with order validation, cash policy, and patient safety requirements.
• Provides training and acts as a resource to others; supports revenue cycle activities.
