Job summary

ECU Health Health System is seeking a detail‑oriented registration specialist to support both outpatient and inpatient services. The role focuses on scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification while ensuring accurate demographic collection and authorization for procedures.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills, with preferred experience in EPIC and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or higher is required.
• 1–2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• 3–5 years of customer service experience is required.
• Excellent communication (written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Insurance verification experience.
• EPIC and MS Office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register patients and verify insurance for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Collect accurate demographics and secure authorizations for procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services.
• Create a positive first impression of ECU Health’s services for patients and families.
