Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a part-time Registrar to support patient care by accurately capturing and verifying demographic and insurance information. This role handles in-person and telephone interactions, schedules procedures, pre-registers patients, and collects financial estimates while ensuring complete, organized records.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of healthcare or front desk experience, basic insurance terminology, and familiarity with EHR systems and registration software.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare including patient registration or front desk/admissions.
• 0-2 years of experience in a customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Addresses questions and provides courteous, timely assistance to patients and families.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements and staffing needs.
• Pre-registers scheduled patients by obtaining accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and captures health plan details for services.
• collects patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Documents and communicates registration information to ensure complete patient records.
• Collects co-pays or deductibles when applicable and informs patients of obligations.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
