Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Patient Access Rep II to coordinate admission for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring accurate patient data and clear communication of hospital policies.

This role requires two years in admitting or PBX roles, a high school diploma or GED, and solid English communication skills, plus computer literacy and customer service focus. Knowledge of medical terminology and safety training are valued.

Qualifications

• Two years of admitting office and/or PBX operator experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Understanding of Medical Terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
• Computer literacy and proficiency.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire date (Hollywood and Van Nuys only).

Responsabilités

• Registers all patients according to department procedures.
• Completes admission forms accurately and thoroughly.
• Verifies medical record status and ensures information is entered correctly.
• Prepares financial folder and distributes copies to departments.
• Ensures accounts are billable and completes pre-admission requirements.
• Obtains required pre-admission information from physicians' offices and ensures authorization for procedures.
• Explains hospital policies regarding payment of service and collects payments.
• Operates PBX and answers calls, transfers to departments, and pages as needed.
• Ensures physicians are authorized to admit patients and refers delinquent physicians to the administrator.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and a safe environment for patients and staff.
