Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to be the first point of contact for patients, registering them for services and guiding them through the care process. You will verify identities, collect information, explain insurance coverage, and help patients complete required forms with a focus on privacy and accuracy.

The role requires on-site work with weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00 am–7:00 pm) and involvement across patient accounting.

Qualifications

Experience performing in a customer service capacity.
Experience working in a business system such as an EMR/POS or inventory system.

Responsibilities

Greets and incorporates patients and families into our system of care with professional, caring service.
Verifies patient identities and records accurate demographic and insurance information.
Explains health insurance coverage and related documents in compliance with privacy rules.
Organizes and schedules patients within the system and directs them during visits.
Collects co-payments and explains price estimates to patients as needed.
Serves as a resource during registration, assisting with complex forms for compliance.
May support related tasks such as scheduling, switchboard operations, or inventory.
Work onsite and travel between locations with reliable attendance.
