Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to be the first point of contact for patients, accurately registering them for services and guiding them into the care system.

This full-time, on-site role operates night shifts and requires a high school diploma, customer service experience, and familiarity with EMR/POS systems to verify identities, collect payments, and explain benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience performing in a customer service capacity.
• Experience working in a business system, such as an electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) point of sale (POS) or inventory system.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients, ensuring positive customer service and accurate data entry.
• Verifies patient identities and updates demographic and insurance information in EMR systems.
• Explains health insurance coverage and related documentation, adhering to privacy and compliance standards.
• Organizes and schedules patients into the system and directs them within the facility as needed.
• Collects co-pays and outstanding balances, explains pricing and uses price estimation tools when applicable.
• Assists patients with forms needed for regulatory and accreditation compliance.
• May support adjacent tasks like scheduling, switchboard operations, or inventorying personal effects.
• Work onsite and travel between assigned locations with reliable attendance.
