Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking an Outpatient Patient Access Specialist I to be the primary contact for patients seeking appointments in clinic practices. You will verify registrations, gather required information, and schedule visits accurately.

You will answer incoming calls, inform patients of co-pays, and ensure insurance verification and eligibility checks are completed. This role requires confidentiality and teamwork within the department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with related coursework.
• Clerical training or admin support program preferred.
• Minimum 2 years clerical or customer service experience; medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and makes outgoing calls as needed.
• Completes and verifies registration information for patients.
• Obtains information for insurance verification when scheduling new patients.
• Informs patients of expected co-pays and any self-pay balances.
• Supports encounter prep, eligibility checks, and appointment scheduling.
• Transfers calls to clinical staff as necessary.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPPA compliance.
