Job summary

Renown Health is seeking a patient access specialist responsible for registration, scheduling, order entry and reception across admitting sites. You will collect demographic, insurance, and financial information to streamline admission and ensure accurate billing.

Excellent communication and diplomacy are essential as you work with patients, families and healthcare staff to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, explain costs, and protect patient confidentiality under HIPAA and Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Six months of admitting, medical claims processing, or customer service experience with financial interaction.
• Proficient with Windows OS and basic computer applications.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform duties safely.

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients, enter demographic and financial data.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorization as required.
• Explain forms and collect signatures at admission.
• Explain estimated costs and collect patient financial obligations.
• Maintain confidentiality per Joint Commission and HIPAA.
