Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Access Registrations Specialist I to support the registration and scheduling process for patients and visitors. You will verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and coordinate with care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires excellent customer service, proficiency with computer systems, and experience with Epic is preferred. This PRN position covers Monday through Sunday including holidays and weekends in Billings, MT where

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, required.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet and email required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service.
• Provide patients with information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, and disclosures.
• Provide directions, maps, and parking information to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care.
• Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
• Follow up on pending issues, such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
