Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Access Registration Specialist I for the Billings, MT campus with an evening shift (11am–9:30pm). You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, register and schedule appointments, collect co-pays, and explain payment options.

You will document in the electronic health record and support care coordination. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong computer skills, and experience with Epic is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, including MS Office, internet, and email.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously.
• Obtain and verify demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments and tests.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at service time.
• Explain financial assistance options and payment plans to patients.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and disclosures.
• Provide directions, maps, and parking information.
• Document and update patient records in the EMR system.
• Follow up on pending items such as authorizations and referrals.
