WellSpan Health is seeking a Patient Access Assistant I for Lebanon Ortho in Lebanon, PA. This full-time day position handles patient check-in, collects demographics and financial information, and verifies insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post high school vocational training in medical/administrative/business field preferred.
• Front desk or physician office experience (0–12 months) required.
• Customer service and safety reporting training within 90 days required.
• Medical terminology training within 180 days required.
• Insurance and compliance training within 1 year required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect financial, biographic, and demographic information.
• Explain financial requirements and collect deposits or deductibles.
• Verify registrations and enter data accurately into information systems.
• Schedule patient appointments including referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Handle check-in/check-out duties and process payments.
• Review pre-arrival messages and other work queues.
• Reconcile cash and daily balances; assist with end-of-day processes.
• Research billing questions with billing services to resolve issues.
• Support process improvements and provide feedback to supervision.
• Travel to other practice locations as needed.
