Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida is hiring a Patient Access representative to coordinate patient flow and ensure timely processing across the department and hospital network. You will answer questions, apply insurance requirements, and uphold Baptist Health’s service standards with compassion for patients and families.

The role requires at least a High School Diploma, completion of Patient Access training, strong customer service, and basic math.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic math calculations.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desirable: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
• Experience with computer applications (Microsoft Office, EMR) and accurate typing.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and timely processing within the department/hospital.
• Maintain knowledge of Baptist Health South Florida pricing, insurance requirements, and revenue cycle operations.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians and community members.
• Adhere to the service excellence philosophy in daily work.
