Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a PRN Admitting & Registration clerk to process patient preadmission and admission demographic and insurance data, entering information into the hospital computer system. You will act as a liaison between patients, financial counselors and hospital patient accounting, ensuring compliance with state, federal and MUSC policies.

This role is within the Patient Admissions Department and requires a high school diploma with customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 1 year experience in customer service, health care or a business related field.
• Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations preferred.
• Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process patient preadmission and admission demographic and insurance data.
• Enter information in the hospital computer system and maintain data quality.
• Act as liaison between patients, financial counselors and hospital patient accounting; ensure compliance with state, federal and MUSC policies.
• Functions in the Patient Admissions Department.
