Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a customer service focus position.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Experience with registrations, financial clearance or patient financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and complete patient registrations in order of acuity as directed by clinical staff.
• Interview patients or family to gather demographic, insurance and visit data; verify information from prior visits.
• Launch insurance verification to confirm eligibility and benefits; communicate out-of-pocket liability when applicable.
• Collect payments for current services and past balances per policy.
• Refer self-pay patients to financial counseling per department procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third‑party payer requirements.
