Job summary

The Patient Registration Representative at MUSC Health serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate and timely registration and billing setup. You will verify payment methods, assist with payment arrangements, and support patients through insurance and self-pay processes in a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of customer service experience, a high school diploma or GED, and familiarity with hospital information systems or word processing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for patients at registration.
• Verify and prepare patient accounts for inpatient and outpatient billing.
• Review payment methods (insurance, self-pay, agency) and patient/insurance information.
• Set up payment arrangements and assist with assistance programs.
• Assist in collecting copayments and deductibles; respond to basic billing inquiries.
