Job summary

West Coast Joint and Spine Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage patient registration, insurance verification, and upfront payments in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role requires accurate data entry, effective communication with clinical staff, and adherence to HIPAA. Candidates should be able to pre-register patients, collect payments, and coordinate with physicians to ensure smooth patient flow and timely service.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; 2 years college preferred.
• Experience in patient registration and verification in a medical center or similar setting.
• Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement criteria.
• Ability to type 40 WPM and handle payments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask with tight deadlines and stay organized.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register 98% of scheduled patients at least 3 business days before arrival.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information with 95%+ accuracy.
• Verify MSP questionnaire for Medicare registrations.
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurance at time of service.
• Coordinate with physician office staff to schedule and prepare information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
