Job summary

Providence Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative for PMG – Westglen GI in Shawnee, KS. The role interviews patients to collect demographics and prepare for visits, verifies coverage, collects co-pays, and reconciles balances to support accurate deposits.

You will schedule clinic visits, handle calls, and assist with scheduling in other clinics while coordinating clinic operations and maintaining a professional, patient‑centered approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
• Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
• Verifies insurance coverage, collects co‑pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
• Greets and checks in patients and handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
• Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
• Must be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; (3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.
