Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is hiring for a Full-Time Day shift Patient Access role. You will perform Medicare compliance reviews, determine patient financial responsibility, coordinate with insurance, and register patients while maintaining accurate records.

The position requires strong customer service, knowledge of HIPAA and CMS guidelines, bilingual English/Spanish, and experience in healthcare revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues and ensures patients have necessary logistical information.
• Registers patients for all services and verifies insurance details.
• Maintains excellent customer service and documents conversations with patients and payers.
• Attends department meetings and provides PBX coverage as needed.
• Performs cashiering and cash reconciliation.
• Other duties as assigned.
