Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare or one year of customer service.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and courteously and route calls appropriately.
• Schedule and cancel appointments using established guidelines; arrange outpatient tests and surgeries per policy.
• Register patients ensuring demographic and insurance information is accurate.
• Verify privacy policies; inform patients of delays and assist with comfort as needed.
• Collect co-pays and balances at check-in; process at check-out as required.
