In this full-time, day-shift role, you will pre-register accounts, scan forms into the EMR, handle payments, and coordinate with the Business Office/Clinics to keep patient flow smooth.

Strong data entry, computer literacy, and customer service are valued; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a hospital business office or admitting office.
• Proficiency with computer-based word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to operate a hospital-wide telephone switchboard; data entry and customer service experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Registers all patients for both acute and ambulatory settings.
• Coordinates night quick admit registration from hardcopy form to permanent computer records.
• Monitors patient census and notifies appropriate Department Manager of admission status.
• Pre-registers necessary patient accounts and maintains preregistered accounts.
• Responsible for scanning all patient registration forms into the EMR.
• Collects and processes copays, deductibles, and coinsurance payments.
• Answers multi-line phones and transfers to appropriate areas.
• Validates prior authorization information from external providers.
• Schedules patients according to provider scheduling preferences.
