Optum is seeking an Outpatient Registration Specialist to support patient intake at our Chandler, AZ site. You will verify demographics, verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and enter information into the hospital system. This role involves direct patient contact and ensuring accurate data for prompt reimbursement.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, familiarity with insurance processes, and the ability to work Thursday through Saturday shifts in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department or medical setting.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• 1+ years of experience with insurance policies and procedures.
• Ability to work Thursday - Saturday 9 am – 5:30 pm.

Responsabilités

• Register and pre-register patients, collecting demographics and health information.
• Verify insurance eligibility/benefits and resolve inquiries with compassion.
• Obtain insurance verification and collect co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
• Enter data accurately into hospital computer systems.
• Schedule referrals and patient services; work with EMR systems.
• Generate and review data reports; follow up on inconsistencies.
