Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic/billing/insurance information and enters into registration/billing systems; explains insurance and hospital procedures to patients.
• May complete pre-certification and authorizations for managed care.
• Prepares consent forms and obtains electronic signatures for treatment and financial obligations.
• Collects deposits/co-payments/deductibles/patient liability payments and documents in systems.
• Prepares patient armbands and balances daily receipts; follows up on system flags.
• Schedules, reschedules, or cancels patients according to hospital workflows.
• Checks order completeness and validates against scheduled services.
