Job summary

CareMore Health is seeking a Patient Engagement Specialist I to support patient access in California (with opportunities in Nevada and Arizona). The role involves scheduling, call handling, information verification, and documenting activities in the EMR under established procedures.

You will follow approved scripts, route questions to licensed staff, and escalate issues as needed. A high school diploma and up to one year of related experience are required, with HIPAA privacy compliance expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 0-1 year in customer service or healthcare admin.
• Basic knowledge of scheduling, data entry, and patient communication standards.
• Experience with phone systems, scheduling platforms, EMR, or CRM tools preferred.
• Ability to follow scripts and escalation guidelines with close guidance.
• Strong verbal communication, listening, accuracy, and service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls, messages, or requests using approved scripts and standards.
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments per provider templates and rules.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, contact info, and needs in scheduling/EMR.
• Route clinical questions and messages to licensed clinical staff or queues.
• Document call outcomes and scheduling actions in designated systems.
• Escalate complex concerns or system issues to experienced staff or leadership.
