Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Access Specialist to serve as the first contact for patients at the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network. You will handle patient intake, schedule appointments across multiple locations, verify insurance, and coordinate services to ensure a seamless patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a hybrid work setting with onsite training in Rosedale and periodic in-office days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from a college or university in healthcare or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls with correct salutation and triage inquiries to appropriate team members.
• Complete preliminary intake and schedule appointments per insurance guidelines and PM/EHR/EMR systems.
• Verify insurance, coordinate authorizations and denials retrieval, and maintain accurate patient records.
