Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Sioux Falls is seeking a day-shift front desk receptionist to greet patients, check in, complete registrations, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and help patients access clinic services.

You will handle insurance verifications and authorizations, obtain signed forms, scan documents, manage calls and messages, and coordinate with nurses and physicians to keep patient flow moving smoothly in a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and confidentiality in handling patient information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and work in a team environment.
• Visual acuity and attention to detail to perform registration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients, checks them in and completes registration including demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.
• Responsible for insurance verifications and authorizations and obtaining consent/waiver forms as appropriate.
• Responsible for scanning pertinent information into the patient’s record.
• Answers calls, messages and/or faxes and routes them to appropriate individuals/departments.
• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.
• Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time and acts as a public relations agent for physicians.
