Job summary

Avera Pain Management Aberdeen is seeking a compassionate receptionist to support patient access across multiple clinics. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and help navigate the clinic’s scheduling and records system.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, scanning documents, handling calls, and directing patients to services. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this PRN, day-shift role.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required or 1-3 months related experience.
• Must be able to work hours; daily duties including registration, insurance verification, and payments.
• Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand and distinguish speech.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, complete registration including demographics, insurance, and payments.
• Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and obtain consent/waiver forms.
• Scan patient information into their record.
• Answer calls, messages and faxes, routing to appropriate departments.
• Maintain computer appointment scheduling and follow office scheduling policies.
• Expedite delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time.
• Act as public relations agent for physicians by serving patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Direct patients to ancillary services as needed.
