Job summary

University Medical Associates (UMA) is seeking an attentive receptionist/registrar to greet patients and families and optimize their experience at MUSC Health East Cooper Medical Pavilion in Mount Pleasant. The role centers on courteous service, accurate data collection, and efficient appointment scheduling for a 40‑hour week with a day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations preferred.
• Experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and update demographic and insurance information for all patients.
• Meet standard productivity metrics while performing the pre-registration and registration process.
• Complete all regulatory and compliance related forms for the visit.
• Complete verification and payment workflow, including screening for potential funding sources, and setting patient expectations for reimbursement.
• Demonstrate commitment to positive patient and family experiences and excellence in customer service.
