Job summary

Howard University’s Talent Acquisition team seeks a Clinical Account Rep I to be the first point of contact for customers, providers, staff, and affiliates. You will answer inbound calls, follow scripts, and ensure courteous, accurate data entry in Allscripts.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient service, scheduling appointments, collecting demographics, and guiding callers through visit requirements while meeting QA metrics in a fast-paced call center.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in a high-volume call center environment.
• Experience with Scheduling, Registration, and Call Handling processes.
• Familiarity with Allscripts or similar medical appointment systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients and manage large volumes of inbound calls.
• Answer calls promptly and courteously using the script.
• Enter accurate demographic data into Allscripts.
• Schedule appointments with date, time, location and provider correctly.
• Inform callers of documents to bring (insurance card, meds, visit fee, copay).
• Remind callers to arrive 15–30 minutes prior to appointment.
• Answer questions to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression.
• Identify caller needs, research issues, and provide solutions or alternatives.
• Meet QA requirements and other key performance metrics.
• Demonstrate strong organization, multitasking, and time management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
