Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Clinical Account Rep I to be the first point of contact for patients and providers across its hospital and affiliated practices. You will handle inbound calls, schedule appointments, collect demographic data, and ensure accurate information entry into Allscripts.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and a commitment to high quality patient service within a busy call center environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a high-volume call center with good typing skills.
• Experience with Scheduling, Registration, and Call Handling Process.
• Experience using Allscripts or similar scheduling system for medical services.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients and manage large volumes of inbound calls.
• Answer calls promptly in a polite, professional manner and follow scripts.
• Enter accurate demographic information into Allscripts.
• Confirm appointment details: date, time, location, provider.
• Inform callers of items to bring to appointment and prepare paperwork.
• Assist callers with questions and provide patient-focused service; seek solutions.
• Meet Quality Assurance requirements and other performance metrics.
• Multitask, plan, organize, and prioritize daily work.
