Howard University is seeking a Clinical Account Rep I to serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and staff across its medical practices. You will manage inbound calls, schedule appointments, collect demographics in Allscripts, and ensure smooth patient flow with accuracy and courtesy.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, adherence to scripts, and teamwork within a busy call center environment, with opportunities for professional development and flexible work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year in a high-volume call center with typing skills.
• Experience with Scheduling, Registration, and Call Handling.
• Experience using Allscripts or similar medical scheduling system.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients and manage large inbound calls.
• Answer calls promptly using the provided script.
• Enter accurate demographics into Allscripts.
• Review appointment details with callers (date, time, location, provider).
• Inform callers of documents to bring and any fees.
• Encourage arrival 15–30 minutes early to complete paperwork.
• Provide patient-focused information and resolve questions.
• Identify caller needs, research issues, and offer solutions.
• Meet QA metrics and other performance standards.
• Demonstrate organization, multitasking, and time management.
