Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Center representative to respond to multi-channel inquiries, schedule appointments, and verify patient information. The role requires a high school diploma and strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Day shift with Mon-Fri, varied hours and 8:00 AM–4:00 PM scheduling; 75 hours per pay period. Experience in physician practice or call centers is preferred; familiarity with EMR systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Previous physician practice experience preferred.
• Previous call center experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology and EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands and adheres to WPH standards and policies.
• Responds to multi-channel inquiries about appointments, referrals, and refills.
• Maintains call queues and processes calls efficiently with high customer experience.
• Demonstrates active listening, empathy, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Strives to resolve inquiries in a single interaction.
• Ensures proper patient identification, accurate demographics and insurance coverage; updates records.
• Performs front desk duties at offsite practices as needed (scheduling, registration).
• Provides feedback and collaborates to improve department performance.
• Attends mandatory meetings and participates in workgroups or projects.
• Completes all annual requirements and other assigned duties.
