Southwell/Tift Regional Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients. You will verify demographics and insurance, register patients, schedule examinations, and coordinate pre-certification with carriers.

The role requires attention to compliance, HIPAA awareness, and strong customer service. Experience in medical office settings is preferred; CHAA certification is a plus.

Qualificações

• 1 year of medical office/hospital customer service experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain and verify patient demographics, guarantor and insurance information for new or established patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Create a patient/case record in the ADT registration system for inpatient, ambulatory, radiology and other tests/services.
• Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate personnel and departments.
• Schedule outpatient hospital exams system-wide as ordered by physicians, per department standards.
• Analyze insurance information to determine pre-certification and/or pre-authorization requirements.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain pre-certification and pre-authorization numbers and data as needed.
• Ensure the patient record is updated and insurance records reflect all appropriate coverage.
