Job summary

New Oakland Family Centers seeks a Call Center Representative to provide prompt, professional service to patients and families. You will answer calls, complete intakes, schedule appointments, verify Medicaid, and support billing needs.

This full-time, on-site role requires a high school diploma and strong communication. You will assist with data entry in EMR systems, coordinate with clinicians, and adapt to varying call volumes and priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Proficiency in data entry and electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, complete phone intakes, verify and reschedule appointments and initiate treatments.
• Assist with scheduling and rescheduling all routine and non-routine medical services for all New Oakland locations.
• Verify Medicaid insurance and assist with other billing matters when required.
• Communicate clearly with consumers and staff, providing pre-visit instructions, directions, and relaying provider instructions.
• Demonstrate flexibility in call center coverage through scheduling adjustments for absences and volume changes.
• Assist with data entry into the tri-county dispatch system and coordination with other services.
• Coordinate between emergency departments, inpatient hospitals, schools, families, therapists, and NOFC ICS services.
• Process medication refill requests accurately and efficiently.
• Manage prior authorization requests by gathering information and following up to ensure approval.
• Participate in team meetings and provide flexible coverage.
• Stay current with professional training requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
