Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a front line office specialist to greet and register patients, verify demographics and schedule appointments. You will support checkout, communicate financial responsibilities and assist with insurance responses and referrals.

This role requires discretion, accuracy and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, and at least 1 year of related experience; familiarity with patient records and privacy is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and verify demographics accurately.
• Greet patients, register, and schedule appointments as needed.
• Communicate financial obligations and collect fees at time of service.
• Process insurance responses and assist with referrals/pre-certifications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and proper medical record handling.
• Support multi-channel communication for appointments, referrals, and questions.
