Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee seeks a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, register them, verify insurance, collect co-pays, post payments, and route messages with courtesy. Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to assist staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, staff and physicians.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and email.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors, answers calls, screens inquiries and takes messages.
  • Registers patients, collects demographics and insurance information, and verifies coverage.
  • Schedules patient appointments and coordinates cancellations or additions.
  • Provides accurate information on test preparations and check-in procedures.
  • Coordinates complex appointments and pre/post-procedure protocols.
  • Updates data on insurance and finances; ensures accuracy according to payer requirements.
  • Assists with prior authorizations when needed and resolves registration issues.
  • Monitors patient flow and assists with transportation and directions as required.
