Job summary

Elliot Health System invites you to join the front desk team at Elliot Orthopedics, a department of Elliot Hospital. You will greet and register patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle demographics and charges as part of an integrated care team to support seamless patient flow.

Proficiency in MS Office and a high school diploma are required; prior healthcare front-desk experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous health care front desk experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients; notifies medical staff of their arrival.
• Verifies current address and insurance status.
• Uses appropriate procedures, referring doctors and correct protocols for writing referrals.
• Schedules referral appointments with specialists, hospital testing and lab work.
• Completes prior authorization of testing according to insurance requirements.
• Collects payments and schedules follow-up appointments or specialty appointments as appropriate.
