• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year in medical scheduling or healthcare administrative experience.
• Experience with EMR systems; eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for new patient inquiries via phone, email, and referrals.
• Schedule new patient appointments with provider availability.
• Enter patient demographics, insurance and referrals into EMR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements.
• Explain policies and required documentation to patients.
• Coordinate receipt of medical records, imaging, and referrals.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to facilitate scheduling.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records.
• Respond to patient questions with empathy and professionalism.
• Monitor referral work queues and follow up on pending referrals.
• Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.
