Job summary

Jax Spine & Pain Centers in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a friendly Front Desk Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and support our busy pain management practice.

You will handle patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payments, and correspondence, while maintaining accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, good communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience required; medical office experience preferred.
• Previous front desk experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and patient registration preferred.
• Experience using EMR systems and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
• Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and route calls and messages appropriately.
• Check patients in and out while verifying demographic, insurance, and registration information.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, balances, and other payments; issue receipts and reconcile transactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; assist with referrals and prior authorizations as needed.
• Respond promptly to patient portal messages, emails, and other inquiries.
• Coordinate with providers and staff to facilitate efficient patient flow.
• Keep reception area clean, organized, and professional.
• Scan, file, fax, and upload documents as required.
