Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's degree; OR minimum one year of experience in call center, patient registration, scheduling or related medical field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent plus post-secondary courses in business/computers; Associate's degree preferred.
• Must complete outpatient registration program and pass with 90%+; annual competency exams; 95% accuracy in audits.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient visits, including new, follow-up, cancellations and reschedules.
• Obtain accurate patient information for records, billing and payer needs.
• Verify demographics and insurance data in systems to ensure accuracy.
• Explain pre-appointment preparation requirements to patients.
• Educate patients about coverage and liabilities and refer to a financial counselor if needed.
• Collaborate with staff across the system to improve patient experience.
• Maintain data accuracy and verify information electronically.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures.
