Job summary

Ocean Beach Health is seeking a Healthcare Access Associate to serve as the front-line contact across clinics and departments. You will register patients, verify insurance, coordinate authorizations, and schedule appointments with a focus on accuracy and patient experience.

The role supports providers and staff, handling multi-location coverage and ensuring paperwork is complete before visits, while adhering to HIPAA and OBH values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Public contact or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Efficient computer use and accurate data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle interruptions; CPR/BLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors; provide welcoming, patient-centered service.
• Register patients for visits and verify demographics and insurance.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments across clinics and departments.
• Verify benefits, eligibility, and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Collect payments and assist with financial discussions and documentation.
• Maintain accurate charts, HIPAA compliance, and proper documentation.
• Coordinate with providers, staff, and external entities to support care access.
