Job summary

Ocean Beach Health is seeking a Healthcare Access Associate to be a welcoming first point of contact across clinics and departments on the Washington coast. You will register patients, verify insurance, coordinate authorizations, and support scheduling while maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation.

In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate data entry, and excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Public contact or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using a computer and data entry with accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to interruptions.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, professional patient service and advocacy.
• Register patients for visits and admissions; verify demographic/insurance data.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across clinics and departments.
• Verify insurance benefits, determine out-of-pocket responsibilities, and discuss payment options.
• Collect payments and balance cash drawers when applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient charts and documentation per workflow.
• Communicate scheduling changes and coordinate with providers and staff.
